Nvidia’s G-SYNC module hasn’t had a lot of love lately, but that all changes with new Reflex-enabled displays like the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG259QNR, which can tell you just how slow your game really is.

  • I really like Anthony in these. He's like the voice of reason holding down Linus' hyperactivity.

  • I need it so I can kill hackers faster than their trigger bot

  • We figured out how to minimize brain lag decades ago. It’s called “cocaine”. Unfortunately, there are some pretty severe bad side effects. Do not recommend.

  • I love to watvh you guys :D some of you are like "beautiful minds" weird and Linus is so funny trying to live among you all :D haha and he have same sence of humor like me. Hilarious!

  • It is so cool to hear Anthony to speak about tech how they wirk and give expertese. Tis dude know this shit like noone ealse. You can feel it.

  • DOS gaming build, definitely original hardware, emulators are broken and cheat

  • 360 refresh??? WTF?

  • Thought 1ms was the norm??

  • The "boost" part is basically just a bypass of power saving settings on your PC

  • I love how right Anthony is consistently. He's like a hot dog eating brain surgeon.

  • haha Crysis go brr

  • 23 ms is not less than a frame on 60hz though... 1 frame @ 60hz = 16,666....

  • Need to test more settings and more games. Hire a crew of canadian benchmarkers

  • On + Boost does the same thing as setting the GPU to high performance I think? it just makes sure the GPU stays clocked high when GPU usage is low so it pumps out frames faster

  • Looking forward to the old PC vs dosbox comparison. Been something I've been wondering for quite a while.

  • Why is the audio synced so badly? The sound stops and his mouth keeps moving.

  • LOL you want a cripplingly badly optimized game? Play Warface. It's Free2Play, Pay2Win, and the Washington server will have you crying how bad it gets. It's getting a server merge with the EU ones (because NA really only has BR players left), so it might change, but playing it since 2014, I doubt it.

  • Moving the mouse around constantly doesn't seem to make sense during a latency test

  • 5:40 As always Anthony is absolutely right. Everything we see is pretty much the past because light as fast as it might be, still needs time to move. You really get aware of it when you look up in the sky and see pictures of stars that are many many years old and therefore you don`t actually see the stars as they are now but as they were hundreds of years ago. So your eyes do live in the past.

  • THEY DONT KNOW FORTNITE SETTINGS

  • Am I the only one that noticed the hair sticking out behind his left ear? I figured the comment section would have been all over this.

  • csgo settings: high, fn settings: low, linus: how is fortnite so much faster than csgo?

  • "Your eyes are living in the past" - Anthony 2020

  • Why doesn't the video answer the question in the title? Why is Anthony fiddling / fidgetting nervously? Why do women have hairs on the legs? Why do men have nipples? Why do our nails grow? Did our ancestors have nail clips (not sure what the word for that is in English)?

  • 4:29 potential meme

  • I dont not care how many more hurts a panel is above 144hz I can not use a panel without ULMB, one you go ULMB you cant go back specially if you are over 30+ years old and have bad eyes..

  • which DoS games did your kids like?

  • Or just give me option to turn off all shaders, done.

  • I think the Activate Windows watermark forces vsync on. I hope you didnt bust your tests this way.

  • I would rather just buy the cheaper version of the monitor and buy a better keyboard and mouse. Cause 100+ dollars goes along way on mice and keyboards.

  • Activate windows

  • Can you please test if streaming/recording with OBS (NVENC and x264) adds input lag ? I've always felt it does but without necessary hardware can't confirm.

  • i see youre a man of culture linus, g203 and g305 are the best

  • Streamers and "e sports" is the cancer of video games.

  • DOS build challenge: Get "Star Trek: A Final Unity" to run. That was one of the last big dos games, and it had nearly every janky extension imaginable.

  • Activate Windows

  • Was the csgo test made in 128tick or 64tick server ? :)

  • Gahdamn, post those K/D ratios with all of this research ya'll are doing..

To claim your Pi, follow the link and use my username (xpugur) as your invitation code. Works on your mobile phone(coming to pc also) and does NOT use cpu/gpu power so does NOT drain your battery. You just need to open app and click one button daily and it will start mining for 24 hours again. After creating your account you need to verify with your phone number for 1 time message so the network will know that you are real user. @xpugur as invitation code detailed explanation: minepi.com/white-paper official social accounts: twitter.com/PiCoreTeam facebook.com/PiCoreTeam/ instagram.com/pi_network/ possible price-->> medium.com/@jeremiasThunder/the-potential-price-of-pi-networks-pi-1db34e078181

  • Or.. and listen here. you buy the new alienware AW2521H which has the reflex feature and its cheaper (at least in Europe) then the non reflex Asus.

  • Which game causes the most lag? Me: Google Chrome

    • Even in a powerful PC, chrome lags the youtube player, omg!

  • dani has ruined the words "wow, that's pretty cool" for me, I can't unhear him when you said that

  • love the dark intro!!!

  • Reflex On + Boost keeps the GPU at 100%, so in theory you'll always have the faster response all the time. At the cost of increase your electrical bill, haha.

  • No person can take Linus's beard seriously.

  • AAAAAAAAAA I HAVE THAT MOUSE

  • "Speaking of nonsense!..." Linus you almost slipped there lol.

  • Would have loved to see if G-Sync would impact latency since there is always this question when it comes to VRR

  • ur an idiot for using Fortnite as a test game

  • U actually don't need buy David a 480hz monitor my 2010 probook 4520s monitor can overclock actually to 444hz and it's actually trying to do it lmao

  • every millisecond your screen or mouse waste is a millisecond the giant enemy finger could be using to move 0.001cm, another millisecond u cant use to shoot the enemy grenade before it shoots you. every millisecond matters. dont get rekt.

  • Day 113 of asking for a PC thanks 😁👍

  • 4:30 “Linus gets his cheeks clapped POV Raw HD”

  • nVidia ReFles needs supported game.

  • What is the circle of friends? Where I buy this?

  • Make video bit short linus around 10 min

  • Fortnite having crazy low mouse latency is like a 99 civic with a modern Ferrari steering column.

  • I'm a magician and what your friend said about your eyes living in the past is actually 100% true that's how I'm able to get away with magic tricks

  • Thanks for calling out the absolute steaming pile of shit that is the Windows 10 search menu. Keep pilling it on until they do something about it. There's no excuse. Every other OS search is better. Hell, Windows used to be better.

  • Whats dumb about windows is that you have to go into indexing options and check mark to tell windows to look into your hard drive and others to do the search thing.

  • 5:37 not the first time i heard that xD hehehe

  • 3:43 Might be an editing mistake, but 23ms is not less than one frame at 60fps. One frame is 16.6(...)ms.

  • "Your eyes live in the past" Fun fact we do actually live in the past not our eyes but our brain because there is actually a delay between you eyes seeing a picture and your brain processing it news.mit.edu/2014/in-the-blink-of-an-eye-0116#

  • Uh oh, Linus yet again is pirating windows X-X

  • I wonder, how much time passes between pulling the trigger on a real gun and seeing the muzzle flash after the bullet leaves the barrel? There is a lot going on there, and it might actually take more time in real life.

  • speak about a website of animate background -> use a green non animated background at the end of the video.

  • Ummm sure more worse 8:16

  • on plus boost just turns it on plus keeps the gpu in performance mode its the same as setting prefer high performance in the nvidia control panel

  • Linus, you're making assumptions in this test. Some games may use a virtual bullet along with the physics engine to simulate bullet drop and recoil. Along with this could be a more realistic bullet starting point at the back of the barrel, not showing a fiery blast until the bullet accelerates to the end of the barrel. You would need to know for a fact how each game simulates shots, though. Just my $0.02.

  • More useless hardware to the god of useless hardware...

  • I think that 2.6k comments in 8 mins is... idk

  • 9:20 yep ... the windows search is TRASH :D

  • millisecond as in .001 second the delta you see is .0001 second human can perceive 50 ms if condition is there or .050 second

  • Ah Linus is pirating Windows again...

  • Wait so did ultra low latency mode make it worse?

  • Looking at getting a 2070 Super, any advice on the 20 series or 2070 cards?

  • Omg just release the eldad as a standalone thing already..... the monitor module thing It's like trying to sell a car with built in tire alignment feature. Lol

  • Does anyone remember when you just opened up a game and played it rather than analysed it to death?

  • Help me pls, my pc always go blank everytime i play a game with 60 fps in game setting. here is the report i get from windows error report: Description A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly. Problem signature Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent Code: 141 Parameter 1: ffffb40f7c844460 Parameter 2: fffff8053f0509f0 Parameter 3: 0 Parameter 4: 580 OS version: 10_0_19041 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 256_1 OS Version: 10.0.19041.2.0.0.256.48 Locale ID: 14345 Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_atikmpag.sys Server information: 43aea689-eb85-4453-a6be-243cf24f53cb" my pc specs: Ryzen 5 2600, Standard HSF Asrock x370m Pro4 , Bios ver 5.80 2 x 8Gb 3000Mhz RAM Sapphire Nitro+ Rx 580 4Gb Corsair CX550

  • you cant just lower refresh rate and expect less input lag, you have to cap the framerate below monitor refresh rate at something that lowers gpu usage below 100%, this reduces the frame buffer between gpu and cpu and gives you better input lag. Which is basically what the reflex software in game does, but without lowering gpu below 100%. On + boost changes your power settings for your gpu to prefer performance so the card will clock as high as it can

  • "unless you're an idiot" Well this idiot wanted 100hz instead of 120hz to get the 10bit RGB ☕

  • HELLO Linus, I am Sankalp Pareek,a die hard fan of yours from India. I am going through a really tough time and I figured out that I could use some help from a highly talented tech youtuber like you. I have been using a 32-bit Windows Vista Desktop since the beginning of this pandemic... I would be really thankful if you give me a decent laptop from your huge collection of gadgets, it would make my life a lot better. I am really serious about this...please reply to this comment if you want to help (everyone please like this comment so that it comes to his notice).

  • Wasn't that a perfect opportunity to test WIRELESS MOUSE LATENCY? Age old Question.

  • Are you sure the monitor catches up the whole input latency from the "click of the mouse up to the muzzle flash appearing"? I don't know how that would be possible, since the monitor has no absolute information of when the key was initially pressed. I mean, no matter what the monitor does, there has to be an input latency between it and the mouse (or whatever), before it even shows you the so-called "precise" input lag. The monitors "input-scan" is not delay-less.

  • That 1 hair at your left ear-ring distracted me a lot lol

  • Yea but the nee nvidia OSD is absolute shite, because you can not have you fps only, gotta have all that extra garbage, unlesss theres are work around in which case yay too good

  • 3:43 wrong Antony, it's (21ms) better than a frame @ 30fps (33ms), but not better than @ 60 (17ms) or was Linus saying it wrong? Because later at 1080p Linus says it's 16ms...

  • Windows 10 Game Mode. Full screen optimization. Display cloning. Picking which cloned display is clone source. Full screen versus windowed. Let's test all the things. Battle(non)sense, where you at?

  • ACTIVATE WINDOWS

  • Maybe run a test for mouse latency for wired and bluetooth.

  • Minimize brain lag? Did you ever hear about adderall? ;)

  • The fast internet you dont have.

  • Im new to this channel, but the only thing i was focusing on is the ''Activate Windows'' watermark on the monitor. Just shows how good Microsoft really is

  • There is more than laag in a game , its when the gamedeveper dont actually show whats going on in the game so what you see are assumtions to make it Look good and feel flawless ( overwatch )

  • love how linus and anthony take turns shutting each others ideas down

  • The file and app search for Gnome on my Linux box is a million times better and faster than the start menu search on my Windows box. It's ridiculous.

  • Some one tell them they need a Time Sleuth.

  • JFC I'm just over here looking forward to going up to 120 Hz.

  • why is ASUS making another exact same monitor as pg259qn but call it pg259qnr? couldn't they just fit in that reflex latency test in to the original model (pg259qn)?????????
